26 Gigapixel photo sets a new record

What does it take to capture a photo consisting of 26.03 gigapixels or 297500 x 87500px?
For one a lot a patience, processing power, a solid tripod with a robot head and none other than 1665 photos taken with a 21.4 megapixel 5D mark II camera using a 400mm F5.6 L lens.
The whole shoot took place in the beautiful city of Dresden on a sunny day from the roof of the building “Haus der Presse”.
Amazing!
